Counselling

Students can face difficult times with moving to a new country and college can be a daunting prospect. George Brown has an experienced team of counselors to support students during their time at the college. The professional counselors provide free, impartial and confidential advice for issues relating to study as well as and personal issues.

Housing Support

For students looking to find housing off campus, the Housing team is on hand to help. Staff can provide support with a housing search and can give helpful hints and tips on what to look out for. The Housing team can be found at the St. James campus.

Career Service and Centre

The Career Centre provides students with employer workshops, presentations and one to one consultations with a Career Advisor. For students looking for employment during and after study, there is an online job board advertising a variety of roles. Interview practice and guidance for those successful in the application process is also available.

Student Networks

The Student Networks program enables students from different academic departments to connect and fully embrace student experience at George Brown. The three main network categories are Academic, Recreational, and Health and Counseling.

In addition to these networks, there are over 30 clubs that students can join. Clubs include the Bangladeshi Students Association, GBC Dungeons and Dragons, and the GBC Ski and Snowboarding Club.

Peerconnect

Sometimes students want to connect with another student who understands the demands they’re facing. Weekly activities, events and 20-minute workshops are available. Students can drop by their campus Peerconnect Centre for information, to talk to a coach, to participate in a workshop or event, or just to relax and recharge. It is a place to feel at home on campus.
